Nestled in the heart of Angels Camp, California, The Kilted Viking will transport you to a simpler, cozier time. An old world bistro owned and run by the Gilstrap clan: Tim (The Kilted Viking), Summer (The Shield Maiden), and the kids (The Barbarians). We have a passion for food, family, and fellowship. We love good company and are excited to meet you over a meat pie, a pint, or a spot of coffee.

 

You might ask, where does the name, "The Kilted Viking" come from? Tim is 50/50 Scottish and Scandinavian heritage, hence the name. We strive to provide diverse flavors in our food as well as our brews. Never been around the world? Tim has been to 48 countries and wants to share all the flavors of the world with our local community. 

 

Once we adopt you into our clan, you will experience friendship, service, and love. These are qualities that we strive to teach our children, who are the light of our eyes and were adopted out of foster care. We will do our best to share those qualities with you. Whether that is through food and drink, a hug and a prayer, or uproarious laughter, we exist to serve the Angels Camp community. Whether you want to grab a pie and stay or grab a pie and go or take advantage of our pick-up locations in Murphys, Copperopolis, or Sonora, we have a hearty Viking-style pie to satisfy your hunger. 

 

We invite you in to play a game of pool, throw some darts, sit and read a book in an overstuffed chair by the fire, or chat with us. We cannot wait to meet you, serve you, and welcome you into our clan.
